For decades, supporters of Hull Kingston Rovers dreamed about moments like this.
Trips to finals. Packed terraces. The feeling that something special was building in East Hull. But dreams only take you so far. What fans really crave are the memories — the moments that stay with you long after the final whistle.
That idea is what inspired my latest artwork: a tribute to the four trophies that mark an incredible era for the Robins.
Capturing a Moment in Rovers History
The piece centres around the four trophies that have defined this recent period of success:
-
The famous Challenge Cup trophy
-
The sleek silverware of the Super League champions
-
The distinctive League Leaders’ Shield
-
And the global prize of the World Club Challenge
Each one represents more than just silverware. They represent the journeys fans took together — the away days, the nerves before kick-off, and the celebrations that followed.
For supporters who’ve followed Rovers through thick and thin, these trophies symbolise something bigger: belief rewarded.

The Inspiration Behind the Artwork
When designing the piece, I wanted it to feel like something that could hang proudly in a supporter’s home — almost like a framed moment in time.
The bold red background reflects the identity of the Robins, while the minimalist layout puts the focus exactly where it belongs: on the trophies themselves.
The phrase at the bottom — “Memories are better than dreams” from the late great Phil Lowe — sums up the emotion behind it perfectly.
Because as any Rovers fan knows, the real magic isn’t just winning trophies.
It’s the journey to get there.
For the Fans Who Were There
Whether you were at Wembley, watching in a packed pub, or celebrating in the streets of East Hull, moments like these become part of your personal story as a fan.
That’s what I wanted this artwork to represent — not just trophies, but shared memories.
Because years from now, when people talk about this era of Hull Kingston Rovers, it won’t just be about the results.
It’ll be about the feeling.
And those memories really are better than dreams.
